Ischar's body of photographs from 1985, never before seen in its entirety, were taken on the now defunct Belmont Rocks in the city of Chicago, one of the most visible urban gay beaches in North America during the height of the AIDS crisis. A new single-channel video work, Forget Him, will act as a counterpoint to the twenty-five year old photos. Please click here to view the video.
Please contact the gallery to acquire an exhibition catalogue. The sixty-eight-page publication includes all of the photographs from the series, essays by David J. Getsy, Steve Reinke, and an interview by John Neff.
